We had our last meeting for 2012 on December 2 and as you can see from the pictures, it was a great meeting with a lot of things happening.  We will meet again in February 2013.  Remember, no meeting in January.  Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Everyone.

NET Convention

Yeah!!!  The NET Convention is almost here!!  I hope everyone is able to attend and the dates are October 3 - 7, 2012 at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel and Trade Center, 181 Boston Post Road West, Marlborough, MA.  Pleast visit the NET web site for a full view of what is happening at the convention this year.  See you there.

After a two month "summer break" we held our first meeting on September 9 and the turnout was great.  I guess we are all happy to be back to do what we enjoy...."Decorative Painting".  The meeting went well and the afternoon painting program was great.  There are many exciting things to look forward to within the chapter.  Everyone is looking forward to NET in October. We are getting ready for a new slate of officers with the installation luncheon in November.  In December, we have our holiday party and the Rhody Buck auction.  There are many things going before we end another successful chapter year.

We are back from summer vacation with a meeting on September 9 at 10:00AM and our afternoon painting program at 1:00PM will be with Anne Hunter.  Dragon Fly Box.

LRR annual fund raiser "Pig Roast" was held on Sunday, August 26 and it was a wonderful event.
The weather was great, the turnout was tremendous, and the food very, very good and plenty.  A big thanks go out to the Jeanne and Kathy for chairing this event and a thanks go out to all the members that worked and donated time and painted items to make this event a success.

No Meetings July and August

Little Rhody Rembrandts is on vacation for July and August so therefore, our next meeting will be on Sunday, September 9th.  I will post more info about this meeting sometime in August.
We are having our Annual Fund Raiser on Sunday, August 26 and you can contact me for tickets to this Chiken/Pig Roast Event.  See the information listed for this event.

Community Service for 2012

Kathy Macomber is the chairperson for this year's Community Service.  It is "Project for Linus" a blanket drive.  Our chapter is collecting blankets to donate to this charity.  As usual, our members are very generous and we have made several deliveries to the local chapter of "Project for Linus".

Yesterday was our last meeting for the summer season.  We do not meet in July and August.
The meeting was very productive and attended by many members.  Our Show, Share, and Tell Table was full with lovely painted items by the members.  Thank you all for sharing your great works of art.
We also achieved our badge from SDP along with the Certificate of Achievement.  Again, a big thanks to the members for this achievement.  Please view the pictures related to this.  Thank you and have a Happy, Healthy and Safe Summer.

Our April Sunday program was a class taught by Anne Hunter. It was enjoyed by all and everyone had a beautiful painted windchime for their porch or patio.

Carol Kernozek from our Ways and Means had many good buys at her table so make sure you check for bargains at our monthly meetings. Carol also demonstrated the proper way to clean our brushes. Proper cleaning is very important since it will prolong the life of these pricey brushes we all own. Thanks Carol for this information. I, for one, found it very informative.

Many beautifully painted items graced the Show and Tell table once again at our meeting on March 11.

March 11, 2012 Afternoon Painting with Marieanne Willis

There was a good turnout at the afternoon painting program with Marieanne Willis. The class was relaxing and we all went home with a completed painting of a lovely flower. It was fun learning how to use a piece of Mulberry Paper for the root area of the flower which added a nice demention to our picture. Thanks Marieanne for teaching this class.
